NatSteel Holdings, a first-time contributor to President’s Challenge (PC), will be giving a total of $270,000 to PC this year. This donation is part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, dubbed ‘Building Beyond Borders’ or B3.
Of this amount, $30,000 is for the adoption of the PC Heart Train. NatSteel staff raised more than $6,000 during the first-ever NatSteel Charity Food & Fun Fair held during its recent Family Day for PC.
The remaining $240,000 will be given through PC, to the Society for the Physically Disabled (SPD), who is not only one of the 37 beneficiaries of PC, but also an adopted charity of NatSteel. This contribution will support SPD’s Education Programme, which comprises the Bursary Awards and the Tuition Subsidy.
Heart Train Launch
Five SPD clients have also been specially invited for the joy ride in the NatSteel-sponsored Heart Train. The first-ever Heart Train will be launched today by the President of Singapore, Mr S.R. Nathan at Ang Mo Kio MRT Station.
