In two different books, commissioned by two separate entities, NatSteel’s Corporate Sustainability (CSR) initiatives and ‘Steel Fit & Healthy’ programme were featured.
NatSteel was one of the 10 privileged companies to share its CSR experience in the ‘CSR for Sustainability and Success' published by Singapore Compact for CSR. Launched at the CSR Summit on 6 Oct 09, it aims to provide insights into the motivation, processes, challenges and opportunities in adopting an integrated approach to CSR.
In the 25-page write-up by an independent author, it was concluded that 'NatSteel has placed sustainability at the core of its business by embedding corporate responsibility goals with overall financial and operational goals, and establishing clear linkages between these goals'.
In 'Work!Live!Play!', launched by Mdm Halimah Yacob, NTUC Dy Sec-Gen & Dir, Women's Development Secretariat on 28 Oct 09, our 'Steel Fit & Healthy' programme was covered.
Of the 11 local companies featured, the chapter on NatSteel highlights our efforts in caring for our staff's health and family life, which has resulted in a happier and more productive workforce.
