Keeping Fit At Work
Life!, The Straits Times, 8 June 2005
The article discusses the benefits of good workplace health programmes
for employees, particularly among midlifers. It highlights the pro-health
policies of a few local companies, one of them being NatSteel Asia.
NatSteel Asia organises lunchtime yoga, line dancing and aerobics
classes, and provides facilities for table tennis. Other activities
include squash, bowling, health screenings such as treadmill tests,
and health talks.
Employees were quoted in the article as having benefited from these
activities. One of them, Mr Chua Hock Cheng, adopted a healthier
diet, had counselling sessions with our staff nurse and began
brisk walking, cycling and bowling. The result — he
lost undesired weight, passed his blood test and is much healthier
today.

For example, she devised a way for the factory to produce
