NatSteel Holdings strongly supports the community through corporate donations
and sponsorships, as well as personal contributions from individual
staff members.
At the launch of B3 in Dec 2007, NatSteel's Corporate
Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, cheques of $50,000 each were
presented to our adopted charities - St Joseph's Home (SJH) to fund
a van to take their elderly out and the Society for the Physically
Disabled (SPD) for their bursary programme. A further $53,500 was
raised by both the company and staff for the purchase of the van for
SJH.

environmental work, staff are also given CSR leave.
Asian Twin Tragedies - Extending a Helping Hand
Besides donating $20,000 through the Singapore Red Cross Society
in aid of the Cyclone Nargis disaster victims, NatSteel has also
helped our Myanmese staff through a number of initiatives - asking
agents to visit and contact their families in Myanmar, being more
flexible in approving home leave and allowing Myanmese colleagues to
seek pay advance should they require money urgently.
NatSteel's subsidiaries in China have also contributed a total of
RMB320,600 (roughly equivalent to S$64,000) to the Sichuan
Earthquake Relief Fund.
Being the only steel mill in Singapore, we regularly host visits
from academia and industrial bodies to our plant. The company absorbs
the costs for these visits as part of our ongoing investment in
the community.
